1. Commission

Physical - Beating the child in excess
without predictability

Having the child view sexual explicit material

Belittling such as telling the child he or she
is no good

Bullying
such as using threats of force

Using psychological pressure to persuade such
as telling the child that they are not
loved
2. Omission
a.
Failure to provide basic needs

Examples
1.
Not having a winter coat when it is needed
2.
Not providing food for the child
3.
Not enforcing basic hygiene or not providing
items necessary for basic hygiene

Failure to protect child
i.
Examples
1.
Placing the child in situations where harms is likely to happen such as allowing your
child to be repeatedly sexually abused with your knowledge
2.
Allowing the child to engage in dangerous activities
such as jumping off the roof of the house when you know they are planning on
it.
